Dr Sophie Atherton (The University of Edinburgh) explores why stories of the past are so important to understand the present. And quantum physicist Dr Nick Werren (Heriot-Watt University) journeys to the 17th century to investigate how the early physics of light was shaped by brilliant minds doing terribly stupid things.
