Description:
One of Scotland's greatest ever footballers. From her native Stewarton, signed for Rheims in France, then AC Milan. The SFA did not allow women professional players at the time, so banned Rose from playing for her country. Her success in Italy led to being granted citizenship and she captained Italy to victory in the Mundialito, the first women's World Cup, in 1984. Inducted into the SFA Hall of Fame 2007. Awarded a honorary doctorate from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2019 and an MBE in 2020 for services to women's football.
